A Merry Vollono-Mead-Luna Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!
What a week! We got into CT Saturday night after last minute shopping around town. Sunday - low key day in Milford getting new brakes on my car, and Monday: Picking up the Luna's at the Airport! Tuesday, we all got together for pizza at Jaime and Laura and everyone got to say hi to the man of the hour: Ethan.

Christmas Eve started with lunch for Mom and Dad's birthdays, then the million course dinner at the Vollonos.

The calm before the storm.

So much food!
This year - Scott and I got everyone to wear ugly sweaters and had a contest for the ugliest!

1st place: Stephen: Ugly sweater ornament and Marshalls gift card (to get a better sweater)
2nd place: Chris: $5 scratch off
3rd place: 3 way tie! Dad, Auntie Sue and Benny tied, so we drew names and Sue got the prize, a $2 scratch off

Boston POPS!

A new fun Christmas tradition is going to see the POPS! This is our second year, and it is so fun to see what the new show is. This year, they had commissioned the piece “A Soldier’s Carol: The Christmas Truce of 1914” to read and put to music. It's the story of how in WW1, German, British, and French soldiers came together to sing carols and bury their dead on Christmas and put a pause to the war. Also featured was the traditional sing-a-long, and a visit from Santa! Such a great way to get in the spirit.

O Christmas Tree[s]

It's no secret that Scott LOVES Christmas. We get a jumpstart on the season with the day after Thanksgiving: tree cut down day. We pick out the Vollono family Christmas tree for his parents house at nearby Oak Ridge Tree Farm.

We got there nice and early (10a ish) so we beat the rush and the melting snow  / muddy ground.

It didn't take long to find a great tree!

Lumberjack Scott chopping the tree down

When we got home, Sophia and Eric were there to help decorate the tree

only one ornament broke, and it wasn't even by the kids! Big Steve was the culprit.

We came home Saturday night and Sunday AM were at Home Depot getting our own tree!

Patriots and Holiday decorating, what a lovely Sunday evening
